Protocols
The techniques and resources that we use include:
- Special techniques and equipment for manipulation, cryopreservation,
recovery, and distribution of gene-trapped (GT) embryonic stem cells (ES cells) and germ cells including intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), and unassisted fertilization drop in vitro fertilization (IVF),
- Special techniques for recovery of mutant mouse lines including Speed
Expansion and Speed Cryo, which allows the CMMR to generate hundreds of offspring for mapping experiments or hundreds of embryos for freezing from the sperm of a single male mouse,
- A robust web-enabled relational database that the CMMR has built that
allows research personnel, major CMMR users, and other users to track all samples and their associated data, and
- An administrative infrastructure that coordinates the scientific and management aspects of the archive and services that we provide, particularly the Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs) essential for the deposit and withdrawal of samples from the repository.
