  • All mutants and samples stored at or supplied by the CMMR remain the property of the Depositing Investigator/Institution. These mutants and samples are made available through the CMMR as a service to the research community.
  • The Conditions of Use accepted or Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs) executed at the time of service requests detail the rights and responsibilities of Depositing and Withdrawing Investigators and their Institutions.
  • Mutants and samples are not to be used in human beings, including for purposes of diagnostic testing.
  • Mutants and samples provided by the CMMR are restricted for use by the Withdrawing Investigator/Institution for non-commercial purposes only, unless otherwise outlined on a legally executed MTA.
  • No breeding for sale or distribution or transfer of any CMMR strain or descendants, to parties outside the Withdrawing Institution, is permitted
  • By placing an order for mutants or samples, the Withdrawing Investigator acknowledges that the mutants and samples are experimental in nature and may have hazardous properties. The Withdrawing Investigator assumes all liability for claims of damages for the use, storage or disposal of the mutants and samples.
  • By accepting shipment of mutants or samples, the Withdrawing Investigator agrees to use strains in accordance with standard ethics of animal research.
  • The Withdrawing Investigator assumes all responsibility for ensuring appropriate documentation is in place to enable the receipt and use of the mutants or samples for their purposes.

CMMR Disclaimer

The contents of this website are for information purposes only. The information above does not supersede any MTAs or other legally binding agreements or documentation. Services and fees are subject to change. All charges are for services rendered and payment is due upon receipt of invoice.

The CMMR’s mice, products, and services are provided ‘as is’. The CMMR extends no warranties of any kind, either expressed, implied, or statutory, with respect to products or services, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

1. Mice, germplasm, cells, and tissue: CMMR users understand that any mouse line or somatic tissue or service(s) related to these materials obtained from the CMMR is experimental in nature and may have hazardous properties.

2. Cryopreserved embryos, sperm, ovaries, ES cells, and somatic tissue: CMMR users understand that any cryopreserved embryos, germplasm, ES cells or somatic tissue from the CMMR is supplied as is, without warranty as to quality, exact quantity, recoverability, or particular genotype(s). CMMR users cannot assign any responsibility to the CMMR for failure to recover live mice after cryopreserved embryos, germplasm and/or ES cells are received from the CMMR and thawed. The CMMR routinely performs quality control assessment of the freezing process performed on its mouse lines and is confident that frozen embryos from its mouse lines can be recovered successfully if the appropriate thaw and transfer protocol is followed.

3. Cryorecovery of embryos, sperm or ovaries: All charges are for services rendered and do not guarantee the recovery of any mouseline. The CMMR routinely performs quality control assessment of the freezing process performed on its mouse lines and is confident that frozen embryos from its mouse lines can be recovered successfully if the appropriate thaw and transfer protocol is followed.
